Summary
I was given two weeks to create, texture, light, and render an entire building and the surrounding environment. I chose to go with a saloon in a desert environment, as I figured that could be achieved within the time constraint.
Process
Using Autodesk Maya, I started with a very basic building shape.
I continued to extrude faces to give the building more depth, added windows, a sign, doors, a porch area and more to further add detail, and make this building seem more believable.
Next I had to add the surrounding detail. Cacti, a windmill, a bench, and barrels were added to adorn the scene. At this point I had also done some rudimentary texture work.
I decided to move everything into Blender, and after touching up some of the textures and lighting, I could consider the project finished.
